Recalling the Martyrs of Ontrato Today

This part of the Catholic year always sneaks up on me. Not only do we have a important Holy Day of Obligation but just around it a number of Saint days that are of special significance.

The Black Cordelias has a post on what we should be recalling today. It is again one of those events I wonder why I didn't hear this in World History Class. Regardless if this is taught in secular schools or not we as Christians need to recall it. GO see his post August 14: The Martyrs of Otranto Killed By The Ottomans In 1480

Also see his interesting and thoughtful post where he reminds us Catholics to have a proper Christian attitude toward our fellow Christians in the Anglican communion at these tough tough time for them.
