DarwinCatholic: Where Religion, Philosophy and Demographics Meet has a post about a Sci-Fi Catholic Book that sounds very interesting. Go check out is post Book Review: Eifelheim by Michael Flynn. The plot involesd Aliens that crash land into the Germany's Black Forest during 1348. One of the main characters is the priest they encounter. Darwin states:
What makes the book fascinating is what a good job Flynn has done in getting across clearly and humanly the intellectual and religious cast of the high middle ages. There's been a trend in the last few decades within the academic community towards re-examining a lot of the old stereotypes about what the "medieval" period was actually about. Judging by this interview.
Read that interview and more of his thoughts at the link. I shall be on the look out for this one
