Louisiana Catholic Blogger Roundup for August 21st.

Time For the Louisiana blogger Roundup for August 21st.

We start out with the Louisiana Facts in history for the day.
On this date in 1769 Gov. O'Reilly arrests leaders of revolution that ousted Gov. Ulloa.

First we start with Astonished Yet At Home that is in need of our prayers for his dad and family. He has given an update which which might show a glimmer of hope. Tobias has several post up today.

First let me highlight is important one for Louisiana folks and the election process. Tobias has this entry up Sammy Kershaw on Pro-Life and Pro-Family Issues .Sammy Kershaw is running for Lt Governor against Mitch Landrieu. We all know the Mitch's stand on pro-life issues especially abortion is not in line with the Church's view. That is pretty embarrassing since Mitch is a CATHOLIC. Tobias got in contact with his campaign manager yesterday and had a lot of question answered. A important read because the elections are coming up fast.

Tobias also has another political post called Stand Up and Sound your Voice . It is a link to a petition where we ask the Democrats not to run TV and Radio ads attacking Bobby Jindal Catholic faith in his run for Governor. It is real easy to sign up to take 60 seconds and DO IT!!
On a humorous political note he takes a look at Boasso, who is Jindals's opponent, TV ad and gathers some insight. Go to Boasso and Portion Control .

He has two posts on Saint Bernard of Clairvaux who we honored yesterday. Check out Saint Bernard of Clairvaux on Devotion to Mary and More on St. Bernard . Lastly check out Emmylou Harris - Pancho and Lefty

Since we started put in the Diocese of Baton Rouge we shall continue there.

Lets go For the Greater Glory. He is not only a Catholic blogger he writes for the LSU paper. I would like to note that last year they had a serious Catholic writing too and I am glad to see they have him on staff this year. He has this link to funny application of Facebook's graffati application. He also hits on a post I missed at Tobias's blog. That is the the Euthanasia problem in the latest Harry Potter book. He is getting out the word too that Sammy Kershaw is pro life.

He mentions a post that that a Huckabee blogger did about Brownback and is not pleased. I left a comment there:). Like I said I might just go through the Brownback blogs today and show they play tough too.

This link he has is pretty incredible. Yes Delorean's might be coming off the assembly line again. That is pretty cool

We Continue to The Brown Pelican Society Blog that also has a ton of links we should know about. He has so many I usually just say go there but today I will highlight them all. First he has this piece on the Saint of the Day which is St Pius the X. He has a meditation of today's gospel we have during Mass today. This is very disturbing and I will try to find more information about this. It appears in Australia that a A Premier(an USA version of a Governor) has offered 500,000 dollars to a the first person that clones a Human. To make it worse he is a Catholic.

The Brown Pelican HAS MAJOR AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL UPDATES. The Vatican Secretary of State responds harshly to Amnesty International giving Catholics and Orthodox Christians the finger by their new abortion stance in Post details: Vatican: Abortion in Rape Cases is "Violence Answered with Further Violence, Murder with Murder. There is a whole much of links there as to the Vatican response. Please read. Catholics relationship with Amnesty International has now changed because of their actions. Also read his post It's Official - Amnesty International is Now An Abortion Lobby Group - Catholics Boycott.

In more positive pro-life news, he has a link informing us that Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm Removes Stem Cell Research Petition from her web site. The Pelican informs us that Denver, Colorado the Next Battleground Over New Abortion Business . On a political note , he references this article called When The Poor Stop Being Poor, They Lose the Attention of the Left. Also a major pro family group raises concerns over Presidential hopeful Fred Thompson's view on the marriage amendment.

Last but not least, he brings us this meditation by the great Catholic Spokesman and Successor of the Apostles Fulton Sheen.

Father Decker at Thy Nose to the Marble. has a picture of some glassware.

Before leaving the Diocese of Baton Rouge, I wanted to highlight that Full Circle is going to be speaking on the Faith in the Baton Rouge area Thursday Night.

Going now to the Diocese of Lafayette.

Catholic Tube has a vid up that is a short video promoting the thoughts of Chesterton and Belloc’s Distributivism model of economics.

From the Recaimer has another great post. I truly believe if you to her site everyday for a year you would be on every one's party invite least because he would have absorbed so much general facts and history that would be always be entertaining. In her post yesterday she starts out with the Saint of the day which of course was Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, abbot and doctor (died 1153). Among the other things she brings to our notice is an unknown fact about the Civil War I did not know and a big assassination occurred today in history that had great effects on history

Deo Gratia is going through Canon Law we need to know. What is a metropolitan? Go to his entry here to find out and his follow up post here.

Running over to the Diocese of Lake Charles

Cajun Cottage Under the Oaks has to fun posts. Want to see what a typical Homeschooling day is like? GO here. This post brings back memories. What kids do not like turtles.

We end in the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
