Catholics Should Have Sunday School

Catholic Convert David Armstrong and I agree on this. I have no clue why Catholics do not adapt a very good Evangelical model on Sunday School.

I have no idea why CCD shuts down for the Summer either

I saw this on Dave Armstrong's site too. May I just say (repeatedly) at the top of my lungs...AMEN!! AMEN!! AMEN!! When I was on pastoral council that was a repeated theme of mine. I hear Catholics bemoan the sad state of catechesis in the church and throw their hands up in the air and concede that "Protestants know their faith so much better." Well DUH!? Do they think it is some kind of genetic encoding that gives Protestants an IQ advantage?

NOTE to DRE's, pastors, Catholic parents everywhere....the reason Protestants tend to know their faith better than Catholics is because it would never occur to them to do Sunday School only part of the year. AND ADULTS GO TOO!!

Hmmm....maybe I should rant on my own blog about this too.

I so agree. I just don't get it. Sunday Schools is something that the Protestants do right.

I can never imagine it shutting down during the Summer. I also think that most churches even small ones devote a lot of money into it. I mean I know my Grandmother would miss Church sometimes but boy she mad Sunday School.

I am in agreeance with this as well.

We have "childrens church" on Sunday during the school year in addition to CCD so I think our church is headed in the right direction.

I'll go one step further. I think our churches should start doing bible drills.

As St. Jerome said "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ"

OUCH!!!

Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! As all of us former evangelicals can tell you, those are SWORD drills. [grin]

Are you talking about having your kid leave Mass to go to Sunday School?

If so then NO WAY. Leave the Mass? It's not what the angels do.

Now "Sunday School" after Mass, hey that would be great.

Year round would be perfect.

"The short answer is NO, the pill may NOT be used to treat a medical condition in a sexually active woman."

The truth plain and simple. You got to love it.

Hey pharmadaddy, who said the OCP is 100% abortifacient? You say, "how could they be?" Well read the fine print on the OCP paper work itself.

If you don't belief Antonia then believe the fine print.
