Catholic Blogger Roundup For August 28th

The Diocese of Lafayette Bloggers have been busy. For a slow Louisiana blog day they really performed.

First ,Please go and listen to this great Louisiana Catholic Podcast that is quite a statewide effort. In fact it has three of my bloggers on it. One a priest from the Diocese of Alexandria, A priest from the Diocese of Baton Rouge, and a Lay Theologian from Lafayette. Since they produced this we can forgive them for not updating for a couple of days. Go to Catholic Underground and listen to what is one of the best shows on the net at their latest entry Episode 49: The Sound of Awkward Silence

From The Recamier has a nice post. For her August 27th post she had a very nice post on the Saint of the Saint Monica as well as a ton of historic facts that occured on that date. A very big Battle took place yesterday and the shortest war in history took place too. Go to the link to find that out and more.

Footprints on the Fridge has an excellent post. It is how to pray the Liturgy of the Hours with your young Children. That is great. In fact this post is quite unique because I have never seen anyone tackle that before. It really shows it can be done. What a gift she is giving her children. I might put this in a seperate post to highlight it again

A Number of Things has another great post on homemade toymaking. Go to here post The Beauty of Toymaking Fair.

Astonished, Yet at Home! has a couple of post up. Be sure to check back with him because he updates often during the day. Make sure you keep his dad in your prayers.
Check out this vid at his post Rosie Thomas and Denison Witmer - Say Hello . We are still thinking about Katrina down here and this post though despressing is a must read. It is about how the musicians are struggling in New Orleans. Read Nickel and Diming the Local Flavor . I don't know how they are making it with the increased cost of living. HE also has this post linking to a site that talks about how we should view the homeless at As Human Possessing Dignity, As Christ

The Brown Pelican Society has a buch of post up. First he satrts with the Saint of the day and it is a biggie. Who can't get excited about Saint Augustine. He starts out with the Saint of the Day St Augustine and info about him Then has the Readings and meditations for the Mass readings of the day at TODAY'S GOSPEL & MEDITATION . He then proceeds on with a lot of pro-life and Catholic post. My computer is slow loading this morning(more computer problems-now even at work) so I am not linking or posting all his articles because of the time factor. But go check them all out
