The New Vatican City State Web Site Rocks

The Vatican City State has got their web site up and it is great. Let me say it is about t time. This should not be confused with the web site of THE HOLY SEE itself.

This site has so much information and links it hard to know where to begin. They even have webcams of various sites including John Paul the II tomb. Be sure to check out all their links. The link to Vatican Radio has a incredible source of information and can be of great use to a Catholic or non Catholic.

One of my favorites is the stamp section. You can view all the stamps that the Vatican has issued since 1929. Of particular interest are the special stamps they issue when the Pope dies and we are without a Pope till a new one is chosen. Those stamps are called SEDE VACANTE stamps. Here is the stamp that was issued after Pope John Paul the II died and before we were blessed with Pope Benedict's election.

Again there is so much here , that you must just spend some time exploring it. You can not only buy Vatican stamps, coins, phone cards, but also great things at the Vatican Museum.

I shall have fun exploring all facets of this site tomorrow.
