Growing up in South Florida I always had Jewish friends, the majority reform but also some Orthodox. Plus my dad's business partners were typically Jewish, my brother married the daughter of a Cuban Jew and my prep high school...I attended Belen Jesuit for 4 yrs, but my last 2 were at Gulliver, comprised primarily by Jews.

Funny on matters of faith sometimes I feels closer to them than some of irrational, extreme evagelical rhetoric that evinces anti-Catholic and virulent anti-Papal rhetoric.

Obviously JP2 history and efforts has brought us very close, and Benedict XVI visiting w/ Jewish leaders in NYC...
