Beware of Reporting From Iraq the Next Few Weeks

The reporting on Iraq has been horrid the past few weeks. It started with the New York Times and has just got worst. There is a very interesting story behind the new recent Iraqi led offensive that needed some sophisticated reporting. Sadly we did not get it. The losers are the Iraqi people, our guys in Uniform, and the American voter who is trying to get valid information.

Everyone has a preconceived notion of how the conflict is going and thus they just cherry pick stories to fit that mindset. I intend to try to do a post later this week on what is happening and put it in the big picture. I think there is plenty of evidence that we are at a critical moment.

The problem we see in the press lately is that they don't revisit and follow up on stories. They predict major upheaval and then when it does not occur they fail to go back and point that out.

The Strata -Sphere has news for instance I bet you will not hear Sadr Fails In Creating Uprising, Cancels Protests, Completely Boxed In

More on all this later.
