Left Louisiana and Missing Home?

Rod Dreher is a writer for the Dallas Morning News. He has done assorted other things like work for the National Review and such. Also he has this blog that I link a lot called Crunchy Con

Rod is also a Louisiana boy now expat. He grew up in St Francisville and graduated from LSU in 1989(For you LSU football fans that is the Coach Bill Arnsparger and Mike Archer era)

Anyway he still thinks of home and has written a few pieces that perhaps indicate that perhaps he would like to come back someday. He takes notice of Governor Jindal a good bit as well as many Louisiana expats who are watching to see if Governor Jindal can finally turn it around so maybe even they can come home to Momma.

You might like this piece he has up Pawpaw and Louisiana. If you are not from Louisiana this story might still have meaning for you.

I'm missing home at times to - I can't blame him. Obviously, the food is different (I really miss crawfish). But, the culture is different too.

Jindal's election is a great indicator of things to come. Another former Louisiana citizen is on his way to a great political career - Heath Schuler. Too bad on the wrong side of the aisle - but good moral character.
