We had a massive Louisiana update yesterday. This one is shorter but still the blogs that have updated so far have some good post.
Thoughts & Ruminations from Fr. Ryan , who is in the Diocese of Alexandria has three very interesting posts on his October 3rd entry today. The blog he , as well as our Priest blogger from Baton Rouge, doesn't have permalinks often so just hit the main the link above. He has a link to this story "Catholic World News: Bishops must challenge errant teachings, Pope says". In Louisiana we have had an upsurge in movie production. In fact I got to be a extra in Kevin Costner's movie The Guardian. Sadly the bar scene I was in did not make the final cut. It is fun to be around these folks and if you get the chance go do it. There is a alot of work to do just one scene. Which leads us a article he has "Explanation of what the movie production team actually does. E.g. What is a key grip? etc". He also has this post which is very good and I can do a direct link called St. Thomas Aquinas Explains the many signs of the Cross in the Xform. I find that that post very helpful for me next time I go to a Mass that is the extraordinary Form. Also under today's entry, he has this link to a news article called Summorum Pontificum Reaction from Cardinal Ruini.
Down in the Diocese of Lafayette we have a blogger that has posted today.
Catholic Tube has as usual has some great Catholic You Tube Vids up. I really want to highlight this post(no vid) that involves a very important Louisiana Saint. That is Father Francis Xavier Seelos. I have posted on him before and might try to do a post on him today if I have the time. Many people have a very serious devotion to him. He has a great pro-life vid here at 40 Days For Life - Day 7. The description he gives is "Michelle Malkin’s video “All the Abortion Lies Fit to Print” finds that The New York Times is exposed for falsely portraying a woman who strangled her natural born infant to death as a victim of unfair abortion laws." Finally he has this vid up Radix Boot Camp which sounds good
From The Recamier has not posted a update yet but she is most loyal to posting on a daily basis so check her out during the day.
In the Diocese of Lake Charles , Cajun Cottage Under the Oaks has some nice post up about her daughter that teaches us all some lessons about what our life and relationships should be about. Check out What Princess is Doing for more. Also she has this post What Will You Find...
In the Diocese of Baton Rouge two bloggers have updated:
Astonished Yet At Home has a lot of great posts up. I am very glad he pointed out this New York Times article called Say a Prayer for Steve Bartman It involves that poor Cubs fan that caught that ball and "Changed History" . I love sports but what happened was tragic. What is tragic is the fact that he lost something he loved. Fans of the Cubs really need to get a grip and somehow make him part of the Cubs legend in a positive way. It just seems so Cub like that this happened and I am speaking as fan.
He has a post about what looks like a fun book. Check out Chico the Cat Tells All on the Pope .
Tobias has a post I want to comment on a bit. He links a news article that talks about Secessionists meeting in Tennessee at his post Irreconcilable Differences . I really encourage people to read that article. That article mentions an organization called the "League of the South" People should really keep a eye on that organization. Despite what they say they are an organization that has a ton of extremists in it. They are very allied with the Council of Conservative Citizens which is the old White Citizens League. Talk about the bad ole days!!!! They are trying to take over the Sons of the Confederate Veterans and have caused a split in that great organization. I am not saying everyone in that organization is racist. But it is common knowledge to those that do any bit of research that have some very suspect people in their ranks. If you want to honor the South great. But stay away from the League of the South. They are not a harmless historical society. Email me if you have any other questions on this.
Speaking of the Cubs again please check out his post Why I Love October . I was planning on doing a post on the two former LSU players we have playing the Cubs. However Tobias already has done it. Former LSU baseball star 'The Riot" Theriot has become quite a sensation in Chicago. It is really a fun story to watch.
Astonished also hits on the fact that today is Father Seelos Feast day at The Cheerful Ascetic
Tobias has a post called Immense Falsehood which deals with how the media is trashing John Paul the II. He has a link here to a important story at No to War, Yes to Human Dignity . He gives a update here as to his posting schedule at When To Expect My Posts . A post here called The Greatest Final Paragraph in the History of Novel Writing . I agree with Tobias that this post he has is a must read. Go check out Six Supreme Court Justices Attend Red Mass . Tobias , like myself yesterday, touches on Guardian Angels here at An Incredible Testimony on the Work of Guardian Angels . Great quotes here at Happy Birthday Groucho Marx!
I disagree with the article that he post here but it is a view that is out there on the Iraq war. Go read It Didn't Go Wrong - IT WAS WRONG . He has a link to a post that I found interesting yesterday. That is about the Christian Democracy movement and Catholic teaching after WWII. Go see In Praise of Christian Democracy . A legend has died go see his post Swamp Pop Legend Dies I love this post Feel Good Movies for Folks Who Hate Feel Good Movies
We end with the always Busy Brown Pelican Society. His post are
