LSU AND ELECTION NIGHT LIVE THREAD

Link to incoming State Results-

Link to Parish by Parish Results-
10:40 Bobby has WON!! Praise God!!! He is letting all the other give their speeches and we shall see him soon. I am going to give a fuller roundup after the LSU game. WE ARE GOING TO WIN THAT TOO KEEP THE FAITH

10:30-WWL declares that Bobby Jindal is the winner and there will be no runoff. Buddy Roemer(former Gov) who is doing commentary thinks Bobby is doing well but it is too early to make the Call. However from what I am seeing I think Bobby has made it above 50 perecent. Mitch Landrieu has been relelected by the way

10:15- Looking at local Republican leaning areas in SHreveport huge amounts of vote are out. Rep Shaw's district which is very Republican is only showing 30 percent returns in. IT is apparent to me that Jindal is on a upward swing. About 280,000 votes are out and he needs about 110,000 out of them. Hold on

9:55-Ok North Louisiana races are coming in I can see looking at the state wiede races. This is where we were 10 minutes ago in Jefferson Parish.. A Republican strong hold

Jefferson, 133 of 268
Boasso 4,482 Campbell 1,698 Georges 7,543 Jindal 34,963

Looking real good. That means that large portions of Republican areas are still out

9:45-Republican such as myself I suspect are now in a weird position. I have mixed feeling on Mitch but he can't do much damage in the LT Gov office. IF there is a runnoff it would be so much better if Mitch was not running to in his own runoff. The Landrieu Machine would go into overdrive to save Senator Landrieu's baby brother and get democrat turnout to do it. If he wins tonight they save the money for Mary's tough race next year

9:39- WWL is report with 60 percent in that Jindal is over 50 percent again. However be careful here. Various stations are reporting different areas and different wards. HOWEVER it appears that the Northshore(NOLA area) as to local stations and Bobby is doing well. Again I am seeing indications while trying to moniter 5 stations that what we saw early on was a heavy democrat vote. FOr instance watch Bob Odom to start losing some percentage points

9:18- I think we are seeing mostly Democrat vote come in early. Areas of Shreveport and Bossier that should be Jindal areas are slow as Christmas coming in tonight. The fact that Foti and BOB ODOM of all people are actually ahead show me that these are democrat numbers we are seeing early.

8:56-GOOD GRIEF THE AG RACE IS TIGHT with about 10 percent in

53,634 33% Royal Alexander, R
-
53,159 33% James D. "Buddy" Caldwell, D
-
54,911 34% Charles C. Foti, Jr., D

8:53- I have got my first phone call of concern- WE MIGHT HAVE TO TO A RUNNOFF!! Wekk if we do we do. However we have not broke even 10 percent reporting and we don't know where these votes are coming from. Relax. Boby is now at 48 percent. All we need is 50 percent plus 1 vote

8:47 LSU HAS TIED IT UP 7-7 AND DID WELL ON DEFENSE. The is one hell of a race for a State Senate race going on in incumbant Sherri Creek district. You might recall she got in trouble because she left her Sugar Bowl tickets at home and had a State trooper bring them down to Nawlins. It is a rural north Louisiana vs Shreveport City folk battle. Rual folk voting for Sherri and her opponent gettin the city slicker vote.It has now had like 5 lead switches

8:34- LEt me point out some interesting New Orleans numbers that coming in. These are a mixture that are very democrat with one Republican. I think this is showing good signs for Jindal
These precincts cast votes at Newman School. Precincts cover an Uptown area on the Lake side of St. Charles (or some may say above St. Charles).
Ward 13, Pct. 10 (Jindal got 69% in 2003 runoff) Boasso 21 ; Campbell 5 ; Georges 51 ; Jindal 146 Turnout for Mayor’s runoff in 2006 was 256
Ward 13, Pct. 12 (Jindal got 23% in 2003 runoff) Boasso 38 ; Campbell 9 ; Georges 74 ; Jindal 27 Turnout for Mayor’s runoff in 2006 was 193
Ward 13, Pct. 13 (Jindal got 17% in 2003 runoff) Boasso 28 ; Campbell 6 ; Georges 54 ; Jindal 22 Turnout for Mayor’s runoff in 2006 was 156
Ward 13, Pct. 14 (Jindal got 13% in 2003 runoff) Boasso 11 ; Campbell 7 ; Georges 41 ; Jindal 15 Turnout for Mayor’s runoff 2006 was 78

NOW LOOK AT THIS!!!!
This precinct cast votes at a fire station on Carrollton Avenue in the City Park area.
Ward 5, Pct. 13 (Jindal got 53% in 2003 runoff) Boasso 31 ; Campbell 28 ; Georges 37 ; Jindal 127 Turnout for Mayor’s race in 2006 was 238
Ward 13, Pct. 14A (Jindal got 15% in 2003 runoff) Boasso 16 ; Campbell 6 ; Georges 47 ; Jindal 17 Turnout for Mayor’s runoff in 2006 was 125

we are running at about 80% of the number of voters that showed up for the mayoral runoff last year. Jindal has about the same percentage of the overall vote for these precincts (in the aggregate) that he did in 2003. He may be running 2-3 points better(thanks to maupus on another forum for this numbers)

8:25- Ok lets look at some early numbers. These are usually worthless because we have no idea where they are coming from. But Jindal is 60 percent of vote with 10 out of 3,967 precincts reporting. Campbell and Boasso are tied for 2nd are 14 percent. As to LT GOV I am noticing surprising mumbers from Republican Sammy" Kershaw in his race against Mitch Landrieu

8:20- UGH Auburn scored on the first drive. They are going through our defense like butter. First numbers on race when I get back from a smoking a cig

8:13- As we awaiting the first numbers to come in LA Tech is playing one heck of a game against Boise St. 17 to 17 at the half. I was on the Boise Board and they are not happy. Tech is often regarded as a toough place to play in the WAC no matter Tech's record.. ON to LSU. Dorsey looks like he his hurting which is a bad sign. The defense of LSU needs to man up

8:05- The polls closed 5 minutes ago. Here we go. LSU and Auburn are about to play one hell of game live on ESPN. I shall report it all :)

From the Secretary of State web site -- 533 of 3,967 precincts reporting 106,448 53% "Bobby" Jindal -- Do you have more up to date numbers?

WAFB calling the election and WWL calling the election for Jindal ... I am headed out to adoration. Glad a Catholic convert will be governor of this state :)

Congratulations! He is a great man, it is about time your state has the leadership it deserves. I hope he is able to get his badly needed agenda and reforms through.
