Pope Benedict is Serious About Great Quality Catholic Music- The New Musical Season Opens at the Vatican

Father Allen from Mandeville had a great post a few days ago on his blog called The ‘aggiornamento’ of Sacred Music. It seems that much like many other things the Holy Father puts his mind to he doesn't take NO for a answer.

Sandro Magister out of Italy has this great article called A New Musical Season Opens at the Vatican – And Here's the Program. I hope people take some time to read that article and explore the links he has provided at the bottom.

Also people should ask themselves. Why not here? The Holy Father is not have these excellent performances in the Vatican just for his or the Rome's Jet set enjoyment. He is sending a message to the Universal Church. Basically it is do "NOT ONLY WHAT I SAY BUT DO WHAT I DO".

In the perfect world there would be no Resistance to something so beautiful. For instance ,in my state at Louisiana Universities that have fine Music and art departments, Catholic Campus Ministers and priest would do they could to use those resources in liturgy and other ways. Fine sacred music and the people that love it at our FINGERPRINTS. However I suspect that will not happen for crazy reasons.

Keep up the fight
