Should Catholic Parishes Be Like Pirate Ships?

This is indeed pretty interesting. Aliens in this World has an entry called Arrrr! The Pirate Priest!. In it we learn this detail that is taken from what appears to be an intriguing paper on Pirates and Religion:

Fr. Labat, who was captured by pirates, and later wrote a memoir about it. It seems that the pirate Captain Daniels had an interesting way of enforcing reverence during Mass:
“When one of his men became offensive during the Elevation and swore, Daniels shot this crew member through the head and made an oath that to any other “who showed disrespect to the ‘Sainte Sacrifice,’ he would do the same too.’”

It would certainly give the Final part of the Mass where the Priest says"The Mass Is over Go in peace, to love and serve the Lord!" and especially our response "Thanks be to God," a whole new deep hearted meaning. No skipping out early to the to the Parking Lot after Communion Maties!!!!
