The Canadian Canary in the Coal Mine For the United States

I think I am one of the few people that like the movie Canadian Bacon . It is cheesy but some of the lines are so funny.

Such as "Like maple syrup, Canada's evil oozes over the United States. " or when the President learning that Canada got rid of the Miss Canada Pageant reacted in horror and said" What if that caught on down here!!!" or "The Canadians. They walk among us. William Shatner. Michael J. Fox. Monty Hall. Mike Meyers. Alex Trebek. All of them Canadians. All of them here."

However this is not funny. Go see Canadian bloggers being sued for... writing conservative thoughts . This is pretty incredible. While people proclaim that Bush is creating a police state we got this just having North of our borders. Again, part of me thinks what if this catches on here.

I would hope that a liberal in Detroit is quite different than a liberal it appears in Ottawa and recognize we are all at risk. Then I read something like this and get concerned that might not be true.

Anyway I think we should all be concerned what happens North of the border as to those bloggers. Canada could very well be the canary in the coalmine for us.
