I am very much for a two state solution but till we recognize the following facts we are just whistling Dixie.

I thought there was one huge glaring thing that Pope Benedict could not talk about as to Palestine that he could to Africans.

Yes corruption. Even Arab Newspapers talk about it more bluntly than many here.

Now no doubt Egypt and even Israel have their famed corruption scandals. The problem is it never reached the level where they could make the trains run on time.

This cannot be wished away. Israel has always had the political factions (and still does) to make a deal and more importantly abide by it. On the Palestine side there is no indications what so ever that political dynamic exists. This is apparent to even the most pro-peace factions in Israel. Please note that during the last Israeli military intervention the Peace protesters did not hit the streets. They recognize they has a corrupt PA on one side and bunch of terrorists on the other.

The two State solution , which I support, must have this missing link of a Palestine Sadat. Right now it does not. The sad fact is there is little Israel or the United States can do about that.
