Time To Leave Catholic Church Ad In Washington Post Has Some Questionable Claims

This appeared in the Washington Post today. As Friendly Athiest points out headline of this piece is what was intended to be in the New York Times. See ‘It’s Time to Quit the Catholic Church’ Ad Appears in Washington Post

The ad given to us by the Freedom of From Religion foundation has some rather questionable claims.

One is  that Health reform ( Obamacare) is being held hostage to the HHS Birth control mandate.

That seems rather false since if or if not the HHS birth control mandate is upheld it does not affect the overrall legality of the Affordable Health Care  legislation itself.

What is striking is the political tone of course. There is no allowance that perhaps the Catholic Church Claims for religious liberty here helps all of us freedom wise as to keeping Govt by bay. Nor the fact that certain precedents could be set here that might infringe matters beyond the ones they talk about. I was not expecting that of course to be there.

Also is not talking about the matters of the HHS mandate sort of a double edge sword. Looking at polls it appears a good many people are not thrilled with Obama Care. Further what about the Libertarians who might not think making the Church pay for birth control is great idea anyway.

Is the bottom of the ad supposed to be a pun or is it simply a typo? "EXIT EN MASS."

I think a bad pun :)
