I largely agree with this very good Barone article the answer is no. See GOP shouldn't panic if whites become a minority. Despite years and years of Latino immigration it stikes me there is disturbing tendency to treat that vote in a simplistic fashion. There are many subgroups there to say the least. Further ;ike "white" voters they tend to also have regional voting patterns.
