Obama and Louisiana Coastal Erosion

Hmmm well another day passes another few acres of United State Soil goes into the Gulf of Mexico and I am wondering what if anything the Obama transition team is thinking about doing about it.

Obama was Meet the press Sunday as reviewed here at Meet the Press, With The President-Elect And His Strategic Ambiguity. Jim commented in part:

Discussing a future economic stimulus package, Obama mentioned infrastructure improvements and "shovel-ready" projects that the governors had ready to go. Unmentioned by Brokaw or Obama is the regulatory complications of enacting those projects, and the near-inevitable lawsuits other challenges that delay and complicate such projects, regardless of need or validity.

I think this is very true. This is not the age of FDR where he did not have to worry about impact studies and the such. If FDR did things like the Hoover Dam it would have just been being built in the 50's.

However there is one huge Public work project I suspect can bypass that because we have had studies galore!!! That is the National Security problem to save our Coast which also has the nice effect of saving the oil and gas Industry , the seafood industry and Louisiana rice production in the south!!!.

Freshwater Diversion projects and other things can be put in the pipeline now.

Plus on the GOP side their new Congressman from New Orelans Mr Cao is going to make the Coastal Erosion problem a issue. Thus becoming another advocate to the other party. Obama efforts would be noted in 4 years if came through by the voters down here. It is a win win!!!!
