Mother Jones Says Obama is a "shoo-in" for 2012

Wow. Kevin Drum over at Mother Jones made this observation in reference to Jindal saying he was not running for the White House (I don't believe that yet). I agree with Bryon York over at NRO. Why do people write things like this?

Why do people write things like this? Maybe it will turn out to be right, but who knows?
Sure, it's possible that Barack Obama is going to crash and burn and turn 2012 into a Republican year. But what are the odds? Far more likely is that Obama is a shoo-in for a second term, and whoever runs against him will suffer the same fate as George McGovern, Walter Mondale, Bob Dole, and John Kerry.

All I have learned from this piece is a writer at Mother Jones does not know politics very well. In my lifespan Carter was a shoo in against Ford but barely held on. Bush I was a suppose to be a "shoe in" after the first gulf war, and any Democrat was a shoe in against Bush II in 2004.
