As soon as a see a new Hollywood movies regarding the Catholic Faith I assume it will be horrible and just unfair Church Bashing. I sort of assumed that with the movies Doubt that has as one its main characters a nun layed by Meryl Streep.
However Inside Catholic has a pretty good review that has made me want to see this movie. See Of Certainty and Doubt
I was not aware of this play the movie was based on. The review starts out:
The implosion of Catholic religious orders in the 1970s shook the foundations of the Catholic Church in America, threatening both the financial viability of parish schools and the transmission of faith and morals to subsequent generations. Decades later, the clergy sex-abuse crisis produced another earthquake from which the Church has yet to recover.
Most Catholics view these two developments as entirely separate. But John Patrick Shanley, the screenwriter and director of the newly released Doubt -- the film adaptation of his award-winning, off-Broadway play of 2004 -- draws out the clear and subtle connections between the exodus of nuns and the unchecked abuses of clerical predators.
Be sure to read the below reviews and especially from the non Catholic Christianity today linked below which seems to indicate much more is going on this film.

The United States Bishops Office also gives it a good review
As Does Christianity Today which is very very good

It's too late for me. Hollywood's bashing of Catholicism (actually Christianity in general) thru movies and TV shows (like Law & Order, etc) made me give up on most of their productions years ago. I am waiting for HollyWEIRD to come out with pro-religous movies and good Christian characters who are not raping, pillaging, murdering or stealing.
I did not see this movie if you check out my blog Stranger in A Strange Land at http://aseedinbriar.blogspot.com/2008/12/nut-vs-priest.html
You will see an interesting interview that was in the December 8th issue of Newsweek. Both Viola Davis who is in the film and writer director John Patrick Shanley say some rather nice things about the Catholic Church. But I like the prior poster cannot watch anything that Hollywood has to say in its portrayal of Catholics
