Conservatives Against "Everybody Draw Mohammed" Day

Yes I know many of my readers are all on board with this. Well that is fine. I just find this counterproductive and in some ways mean and as to my own moral code of how I see the world just cannot do it.. However I am not going to rant on people that think this is great partly because I hope this goes away.

I also don't think this is a great idea while we have significant troops engaging in active operations in Islamic countries

I am not ALONE!!

Althouse has
"Everybody Draw Mohammed Day" is not a good idea. and hey we are growing

see

"Our reflexive response to 'Everybody Draw Mohammad Day'... was sympathetic. But Althouse prompted us to reconsider.

James, Altahouse writes, "But depictions of Muhammad offend millions of Muslims who are no part of the violent threats. In pushing back some people, you also hurt a lot of people who aren't doing anything (other than protecting their own interests by declining to pressure the extremists who are hurting the reputation of their religion)."

Ann seems to find it acceptable for all those REALLY GOOD MUSLIMS to decline to pressure the extremists...because they're protecting "their own interests." Well, what's that all about? Should a true adherent put his/her own interests above true righteousness? What she's saying is that "they are frightened spitless, because their own fellow Muslims are crazy as betsy-bugs, and likely to come behead them and their kids, and post a YouTube video."

Maybe it's just me...but, when I hear about something called "Piss Christ," I just don't look at it. When I see a link to a "child porn, or whatever" site, I don't click it.

We are in a war, for sure. It is a struggle for the ages. We will be in disagreement about this, though we will remain brethren, James. You will not bring a band of marauders to my house tonight, and murder my children before my own eyes just because I disagree with you. Such is the nature of Islam.

The concept that EVIL (Islam) must be shown just how ridiculous, enslaving, petty, and unrighteous it is MUST be done. If the "draw Mohammad" effort in any way offends followers of a false religion, it bothers me not one bit. Tell them to turn their computers, and internet service off that day...none of which they would even HAVE if their backwards Imams ruled the world (as is their plan).

If it perhaps opens the eyes of "even one" of their enslaved masses to the truth that their religion is demonic, and cruel...well, I'm all for it.

Like I said...we will just have to lovingly disagree on this one.m

I understand the fact we are frustrated that rhese Muslims do not speal out. But the point is often they cannot because they are under oppresive regimes. I mean we have already forgotten about the revolt under the Iran regime that we were so much for but now was yesterdays news

I guesss I just don't see the point of this and in the end all we get to the most poor educated is we had tore their prophet from end to end. How does this help?

James, the point is that we MUST confront EVIL when it stares us in the eye.

We MUST show the "fence-straddlers" in Islam just how EVIL, and wrong their culture is. As I wrote earlier, even if ONE young Muslim child dares to log on to the internet (which he/she never would have had if not for us evil Christian Westerners) and a spark is lit in his/her brain, it will be worth it.

Once again...I will not kill you, and you will not kill me just because we disagree on this. We shall remain brothers.

Until the Muslim world understands this love that Christ has planted in our hearts, they will remain our greatest source of trouble...and our greatest reason for prayer.

Ansy I guess I am thinking the point will be loston the Moslem in the street.

Most Moslems though they think we aour wrong would not degrade a picture of Christ or Mary because they view as blasphemy
I think all the average Moslem will see is peole degrading something to them as sacred.

I can see why people are doing this but I think it is in the end counterproductive and just will cause more division

If it does that what is the point if it does not succeed in doing good?

I'm not only participating, but I have a site were we are doing it, right now. If you want to submit cartoons, too, go for it.

We are doing good, if only by saying to the terrorists, "you can't kill all of us."

And to the objectors, i throw down this question: what alternative do you offer. This can't keep happening. We have to make this stop. When you come up with another way to combat this oppression, i will listen.
