It seems the link I linked (The Get Religion Post) was picked up by some in the secular media and there was good followup story. See Hey, ‘The Blind Side’ may lift off.
Besides the "Faith " angle I guess it is apparent that many of these culture and entertainment reporters are not football fans. You are dealing with a huge audience of Football fans that spend enormous amounts of money on tickets and merchandise and pack into stadiums in the fall in numbers approaching 85,000 to 100,000. The fact that the Blind Side has used quite well ESPN and its marketing voice has been apparent. Needless to say they are going to be spending the bucks in large numbers to see this movie.
To me this being a huge hit based on a huge book that got good reviews was a no brain er.

Directed by John Lee Hancock, The Blind Side indicates the true story of football star Michael Oher. Such a good movie! One of the best I've seen. Loved it! Great movie, something for everyone, it's funny, serious, sports minded and emotional. I simply adore it and wish that the creator of the movie makes many more movies of this sort.
Go and watch The Blind Side movie and rejoice the entertainment.
