Sadly Alexandria Louisiana Will Smell Better (Another I.P. Plant Closes)

Ahh depressing news. It seems that this really bites after International Paper closed the Bastrop plant. Via the Dead Pelican we have these headlines this morning

I.P.'S Pineville mill to close in mid December...
State promises to help displaced IP employees...
Paper: mill will leave strong legacy...

It other bad economic news for North Louisiana showing that literally when it rains it pours see Rain washing away cotton season This article references Northwest Louisiana but in the farming areas of Northeast Louisiana the situation is a 1000 times worse.

I saw this story on KALB (Alexandria) yesterday. It is terrible news.

Hopefully, Jindal can attract some other business to the area.

I hope so. Again it is really no one in Louisiana's fault. It just appers the timber business has gone other places
