The Peaceful Transition of Power

Today is the big day. I just saw President Elect Obama and his Wife meet the First Family at the White House as the final two hours of Bush's Presidency winds now.

I have mentioned before I am struck by the peaceful transfeer of power. It is of course more jarring when it is a atransition between two parties.

It should be recalled one of the few times this did not go well at all was when Lincoln came into Office. In fact there were attempts to kill him. Needless to say things went downhill after that for about 5 years.

We (for Americans Reading) are indeed blessed to live in this country
