I see the point and of course it goes without saying in the very early Church there were parts of the Mass that people coming into the Church good not see. You get a sense of this at St. Cyril of Jerusalem catechetical lectures .This ritual is done in a symbloic way in RCIA still.
However I do wonder if Catholics like their Protestant neighbors had a bring a friend to Church week if that is so bad.
For many Converts , including me, it was be invited to a Mass that started down the road to my Baptism.
