How Beauty Can Renew the Catholic Church

Deal Hudson makes to me what is a very obvious point but seems lost on countless others in positions of Church power on the local level. See How Beauty Can Renew the Catholic Church

In talking to American Episcopalians that thinking about or in the process of swimming the Tiber this always come up. It is often the thing that leaves them with much sadness. It is indictment that Episcopalians in many places have a more "Catholic" looking Liturgy than we do.

I am struck that in in three Churches in my Diocese that consider "Beauty" in the liturgy and Architecture the churches are full. PEOPLE enjoy it. Plus there are a considerable amount of lets say poor people that don't live int he best neighborhoods to say the least. They did and appreciate this hour of "Beauty" and did it.

When people go to Mass when out of town many seek out Church's where they can have this experience. I think St Patricks in New Orleans is a prime example.
