Jazz Brunches and Major Louisiana Push On Catholics Come Home

While we are on the subject of the wonderful Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux I noticed this front page article on the front page of the rather good newspaper.

The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, along with the Archdiocese of New Orleans and the dioceses of Baton Rouge and Lafayette, has launched a major blitz on TV called “Catholics Come Home.” Many of the church parishes in Houma-Thibodaux have placed banners in front of the churches which invite people to come home to the church. At St. Genevieve Church parish in Thibodaux a welcome home jazz brunch was held after a Sunday morning Mass recently for new parishioners of the parish and those who have left the church

I am not in South Louisiana but I am very curious to see the results of this first major push in the Catholic Comes Home campaign in the heart of Louisiana Catholic land that these Diocese represents.

The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux has been a quite an proactive Diocese for some time. No doubt this is because of the leadership of Bishop Jacobs. Bishop Jacobs was before his time in Thibodaux the Bishop of Diocese of Alexandria Louisiana. I think he can be credited for putting that very rural Catholic Diocese on a strong footing also.

Louisiana also is blessed with two Steubenville Summer Events. One inthe Diocese of Alexandria and one in the Diocese of Houma Thibodaux. See page 3 of the paper to see what a big deal that is down in .

So I suspect in the Houma Diocese they are going full steam ahead with this CATHOLIC COME HOME campaign . I can't wait to see the results in the three other Diocese.
