Italians Outraged as European Court Say No Crucifixes

Ahh the EU is at it again. Father Z has It’s our identity, stupid! .

I thinl Pope John Paul the II made a huge tactical mistake in backing the EU. I think it was naive and based in the goodness of the Pope. He believed that after the fall of communism there would be some new Pentecost in Europe. Now the EU is being used to destroy the Church.

Interesting that this suit was brought about by a Finnish immigrant to Italy...with all respect to the open border crowd, in general, how many times have we seen seen recent immigrants arrive in nations and as opposed to acclimating themselves to the culture, traditions, etc. they want to carve out their individual, non-conforming spaces.

I am not an absolutist on this issue but we see it in America in terms of language, relgion (Muslim immigrants with Sharia) and other issues, especially in Miami, my hometown.

It does seem that Christians...and lately, Catholics, are being attacked almost daily in the media and in the courts. I'm so sick of it.

I would handle it just like I handle my husband who left the church years ago. He once complained about the crucifix in our bedroom. I told him that if he didn't like it, he could leave and sleep somewhere else...with my blessings. The crucifix is still there and my husband hasn't moved out. Sometimes you just have to stand up for what's important to you and never back down.

(My husband also knew that wasn't an empty threat...I won't allow anyone to stifle my religious belief and how I express it. )
