I have no Idea Why Jindal Is Spending Political Capital on Cig Tax Veto (Updated With Results)

Really I don't? The Gov is about to get overridden. Even his biggest supporters are baffled. Why draw the land in the sand on this?

Ok back to regular programming.

Update- Jindal Survives override. I am surprised. Again I am not sure the logic spending political captial on this but he won this battle

A few details

Cigarette tax veto override fails, 58-44 vote. That's 12 short of what was needed to override

11 people switched to support Jindal, including 8 Republicans, 2 Democrats and 1 independent

Those who switched: Billiot, Carter, Chaney, Fannin, Greene, Hoffmann, Katz, Landry, McVea, Robideaux and Willmott

Jindal also picked up override support from Chandler, Cromer and Ellington, who were absent for original vote

What is the mystery? Anyone with good sense knows why Jindal vetoed the bill, as well as why the votes were changed to prevent an override of the veto. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
