Obama White House Fudging On Immigration Reform Again

Contentions has the latest at Gibbs Cornered Again

Of course we had an idea two years ago that Obama would not risk political capital on this issue when he voted for that poison pill.

It is an irony that even with the economic tough times McCain would have likely moved on this issue his first year. Democrats with their current majorities would have been hard pressed not to have gone along. It was one of the few pieces of legislation that he could have worked with Democrats on. Even though many would not be thrilled about it because of the political heat

Now those that wanted immigration reform will have to hold their breath to see if there is a substantial realignment in 2010 that puts immigration reform in a much more difficult position to pass.

The question shall be will Catholic and many Hispanic leaders be held accountable for their promises of don't worry Obama can get this done just like McCain.

I think the law will continued to be violated, people will become cynical, the random enforcement and deportation will continue and at the end of the day the situation just will be ignored and thus become worse.
