Louisiana Catholic Blog Update for May 7th

Let us get the Louisiana Catholic Blogger Update Rolling!!!!! It is a small one again.

Taking back the Sacred has a link up on Louisiana Catholic Bishops recent statement and position on immigration. Yes I know it is an emotional issue but I hope people read it and use it as an foundation to pray over the issue and to start making a informed faith judgment. He also has this Dorothy Day related post Working for the Common Good

Big Congrats to Alive and Young our Louisiana expat(that I think is coming back one day and thus explains his daily appearance in the Daily Bayou Update) who lives in the tiny little often forgettable state of Delaware.
He got published in the New Oxford Review!!!! You know that magazine that just goes totally ape S**** if you copy and paste from any of their article without paying them :). All of which we learned during the Jindal campaign saga.
Anyway this is quite nice and exciting. There have been no calls from the Oxford Reviews to publish me yet but I am waiting!!!! He did a article on the rapture. He has a small snippet of what he wrote at Intellectual Prizefighting . See also his post New Evangelization

Our Deacon From New Orleans ,Life on the (L)edge , has a funny post involving Brother Martin Catholic School(Whose Alumni include Fitness Guru Richard Simmons) , the Virgin Mary, and Children say the darnedest things at his post IAN'S QUOTE OF THE DECADE!!

Full Circle has Why No Child Left Behind WILL fail By the way I sort of disagree. I do think it needs to be tweaked a tad

Vox Feminae has put up some more recording that she and her schola choir do at the Cathedral in Shreveport at Recordings

Catholic Tube - Catholic Videos and News has Father Williams On The Pope

Cajun Cottage Under the Oaks cute daughter has a big day. See Graduating with Honors

Fr. Victor Brown’s Catholic Daily Message has his daily meditation at Feast of Saint Benedicta (6 May 2008). It basically talks about two Dominican priest that just died and his thoughts about him. If you are from New Orleans you might want to check it out because perhaps they served at St Dominics. Anyway may the Lord lead them home after decades of service.

From The Recamier has her daily update here. She hits on a lot including a nice bio on L. Frank Baum who died on yesterday's date

The Brown Pelican has a ton of links as usual. I am having to rush to get KFC to grab dinner so I don't have time to link them all but please check them out

Thy Nose to the Marble. of Father Decker has a vid as to the night office

That is it for the update. If I missed any one on my Louisiana Catholic List a thousand pardons and I shall pick you on Thursday update.
