A Look Again At Andrew Hatch

Since Andrew Hatch and Jarrett Lee are in the running for the starting job at LSU, I thought I would provide a link to this article again From Beantown to Bayou CountryFormer Harvard back-up quarterback Andrew Hatch's wild journey

He is largely a unknown except to the Spinx like LSU Football program. I am going to see today if Las Vegas Metro Papers, where he went to school, have added anything since it appears one of the home boys is in the running for the top job at LSU. Lee's hometown paper has taken noticed.

Hatch is in a difficult situation. LSU fans know more about Lee because he came out of Texas. He was a highly sought after recruit thus many fans are more emotionally invested in Lee (who we know is good) than Hatch. That is they have a preconceived notion who should be the starter (and that is Lee) even though it based on little information. Despite that we get hints from LSU that Hatch is very much in the running as we see in this article this morning:

With Perrilloux suspended the entire spring, the focus in practice was primarily on Hatch and Lee.
Hatch was generally credited with having the better Spring Game performance, but he’s older than Lee and has been schooled in offensive coordinator Gary Crowton’s offense since he was attending his summer camps as a schoolboy back in Nevada.
Hatch is regarded as more of the runner. Lee has more of a pocket presence and a stronger, more accurate arm.
Who will get the first start on Aug. 30 in the Appalachian State game? How about Perrilloux if he transfers to Appy State? We’re kidding of course, but you never know.
The bet, from an LSU perspective, is to put money on the Nevada kid. Just don’t bet the house
.

I think it is neck and neck.
