This Is For All The Tostaditos - Keeping Les Miles at LSU (MAJOR UPDATE)

Ok I plan to update THIS POST till or if we get firm confirmation if Les Miles is staying or leaving to Michigan.

I followed the Michigan Meeting in Baton Rouge as closely last night as I could. I starting seeing rays of hope if you are in the camp wanting Les Miles to stay last night. Then another ray this morning and now this:

Source says Miles wants to stay - with assurances

A source close to the LSU program and a friend of Miles has told me the mad hatter is not looking to leave Baton Rouge. But he would like to see a commitment from the administration that he's not going to be fired after an eight win season.

LSU did not roll over his contract or extend his deal after LSU won eight and nine games after the 2008 and 2009 seasons. In fact after the 2009 season, LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva called the 2009 campaign a "nice season," but wanted more from the program.

Miles would be the first to admit LSU should play for championships every year, but if the Tigers come up short of that goal, he would like to see the administration stand behind him, instead of giving him a luke warm grade
.

I think that about hits it. Les for his age has a young family. He is also getting to the age to where he settles down for good. If he refuses Michigan it is likely he never gets another shot. If he stays at LSU and fickle fans want him fired in two years well he is in a worse boat.

I think Les really wants to stay at LSU and make this place his own. He loves Michigan but realizes that the place is a mess right now. Further he knows perhaps the political situation in the Michigan Athletic department may not be great. For a man that is big on family I think he will favor stability over the dream of what if at Michigan.

I have a feeling we shall know the answer today. It seems to be up to LSU.

UPDATE- Appears from many solid sources on Twitter and elsewhere that LES stays. Will post new link in new post when story comes out
