I am on the slow slow computer right now so sorry for the delay in the Louisiana Catholic blogger update. To make matters worse spellcheck on the blogger is not working for some odd reason. So my horrible spelling /typing will reach new heights on this post no doubt.
Dei Gratia has a must read post that links a article in the Lafayette Newspaper today. She tells the story of her abortion. Go see One Woman’s Abortion Account
On Saturday when I did the last Louisiana Catholic Blogger update I had trouble loading a couple of blogs. One was the great Catholic Tube - Video Blog. A very good vid here The ‘Bacon Priest’, Fr. Werenfried van Straaten. Post and vid on Newly Ordained Priests. This issue has been in the news lately. Here it is from the Catholic viewpoint Should Wives Really Be Submissive? Also a Iconography Showcase here.
From The Recamier has her daily update here. She starts out giving a lot of good info on the Saints for yesterday. Those were St. Blaise, Bishop and Martyr(died 316) and Saint Ansgar, Bishop (died 865). As usual she has a lot of fun history and facts for the day. She usually picks someone that died on "todays" date and does an extensive bio. Today it is Al Lewis died on yesterday in 2006 .
Full Circle has a couple of posts up. He has a post that links to me!!! That is Georgia legislature chimes in against BCS (Blurred Championship Scam) . I am totally totally against a College footaball playoff. Check in at his post in the comment section later. When I finish this update I intend to go give my reasons. A post here called In the future will women be able to have children without men? . He gives his thoughts on the Super Bowl last night. I too was very excited for Eli and Peyton.
Alive and Young is up and blogging.McBrien is no Liturgical Theologian is a must read and I so enjoyed Alive's comments. Great post here that is funny at Not Said by Jesus Sunday (Beatitude Special)
Thoughts & Ruminations from Fr. Ryan has several good post today too. On his Feb 4th entries(his blog does not have a direct permalink) he has a great vid of Fulton Sheen!!!!!
The Lake Charles Latin Mass Society had a Ash Wednesday notice I wanted to repeat. Go see Ash Wednesday
Cajun Cottage Under the Oaks at her post The Winners! tells us they all have the flu among other things. Been there done that two weeks ago. I see the flu bug has crept down from the piny woods of North Louisiana to the Southern part.
Fr. Victor Brown’s Catholic Daily Message has his daily update at CDM for Feast of Saint Joan of Valois (4 Feb 2008) This is a great post regarding the 150th anniversary of the first apparition of Our Blessed Mother at Lourdes coming up next week. By the way see my earlier Angleus post by the Holy Father where he talks about this.
The Louisiana Brown Pelican Society( lay Louisiana Catholic organization) has a ton of posts as usual that people should give a quick glance at.
