More Space Shuttle/Space Station Nightime Viewing Geekdum

Last night all giddy , I left the house to go out in the middle of the LSU Hill Farm Research Experimental Station so I could be with the Cows away from the city lights and watch the Shuttle as it passed overhead. Now what was cool was that it was going to be attached to the Space station. However the one area where the clouds had not cleared was in the place where it was zooming across the skys :(

Now we learn that the Shuttle had to get leave early because of hurricane Dean. Double :( I am also seeing a lot of clouds right now but hopefully they will clear out.

However not all hope is lost.

First one can see still see the Space station

(1) go to this site
(2)Hit the start applet thing on the skywatch 2.0
(3) let it load
(4) I put in my zip code
(5) hit next sighting and it will give you the times in Miltary time. For me it is a one minute span from 9:40:41 pm to 9:41:41 pm
Where to LOOK?
(6)Hit skywatch and you can see the part of the sky to look in
(7) You should be able to see it with the naked eye but bring binoculars too.

Now as to the Shuttle. The Shuttle is not like something out of Battlestar Galactica and just ZIPS away. Often when you can see it getting closer and closer to the station as it approaches when it visits. So perhaps we can see both in close proximity to each other. I have not found that out yet. However I think that will be the case tonight.

Update-
Saw it :) I got to see both. Let me tell you the space station and the shuttle are moving way way fast. I will be out their again tomorrow night to see if I can it see it again.
