Father Godfrey Mullen to visit…On September 14-15, 2007,
Benedictine Father Godfrey Mullen will be conduction a short seminar at St. John Berchmans. From St. Meinrad’s Seminary in Indiana, he will be speaking on their use of chant in English in the liturgy. For 40 years, they have had a tradition of singing this English chant. As with the Latin chant, the melodies are written using ‘square-note’ notation and sung with strict attention to the text. Plan to attend this workshop and learn more about the variations of chant.
