Rick Santorum Not Really That Extreme On Kennedy Speech or 1st Amendment Issues ( NYT )

I think most Lawyers get this though if they are pundits on one particular side they will sort of ignore that publicly . On the flip side some of this is Rick's problem who at times uses some interesting language at times ( throw up).

From the New York Times Opinionator section Rick Santorum Isn’t Crazy

Here is the deal. Santorum said Kennedy's speech made him want to throw up, particularly JFK's use of the term separation of church and state. You don't get to find a bunch of other people's statements on the concept of church-state separation and thereby defend Santorum. That is poor use of reasoning, at best.

Santorum, to his credit, has backtracked and now says that what JFK said was what he had and should have said at the time.

Unfortunately for him, it was too late and yesterday Ohio Catholic Republicans strongly rejected him.

JFK's speech was about a religious test for public office. That is wrong and JFK was right.
