Frankly, I did not even know the meaning of "the Assumption", so I clicked on this link to learn about it. If anyone really believes the Roman Catholic doctrines regarding Mary, the blessed mother of Jesus, then why would they be so glibly sacrilegious about the so-called "Assumption"? Even though I consider it a false belief, based on paganism and polytheism, apparently it has been the sincere religious dogma of Roman Catholics ever since some Pope fabricated the story, and as such it should not be ridiculed.

Well I see your point. I am pretty sure the author there did not mean to be sacreligious and I will have some more devout post on this on Saturday

I guess I thought it was sort of clever since as Catholics we think Mary is the forebear of all Christians that we be assumed themselves at the end of days and that has all sort of into Clouds imagery.

So I guess that was why I did not see it as bad

However I do see your point.

I also think he is playing a little inside Catholic apologetic baseball in a sense in dealing with some charges of how and why the Pope did it at time.
