Update- I did not make myself clear but they are against a 16 Team play off which would be a disaster. I have no Objection to a plus one myself. However 16 team too much

I say go back to pre-Bowl Coalition days, then add a plus one game. Also, have bowl season start December 15 and end January 2, with the championship the following week and limit the number of bowls to 20 or so. I'm a college football fanatic, but even I can't keep up with all the bowls, their numerous name changes, or even care to watch the Micron.PC Bowl every year.
Also, the need to have a clear cut, consensus number 1 ever year is a little too obsessive. The NFL can do it, but they only have 32 teams, and it takes 6 or so weeks, but DIA football has over 110 teams. Go back to the old days when the individual bowl committees came up with the most interesting match-up possible, then do a championship afterwards and be done with it.
