Louisiana Catholic "Daily " blog Update for June 23rd

It is a quick and rushed Louisiana Catholic Blog update for today. Here is what was going on among Louisiana Catholic bloggers down here in Bayou Land

Unskilled Labor has Obama's Policy on Drilling: No We Can't. Also keep this prayer request in mind at Cate Cantrell Needs Your Prayers (More on this below)

From The Recamier has her latest update here at Daily Update: June 22, 2008. She has Saints to start her always informative post for the day. She hits on Saint Paulinus of Nola, Bishop (died 431), John Fisher, Bishop and Martyr (died 1535), and of course Saint Sir Thomas More, Martyr (died 1535).
She hits a lot of other fun stuff for the day. Louisiana and New Orleans residents may make not of this neat bit of trivia "Our birthdays on this date include those of Paul Morphy, New Orleans-born American chess master (he is considered to have been the greatest chess master of his era and an unofficial World Chess Champion, but abandoned the game shortly before the Civil War. In accord with the prevailing sentiment of the time, Morphy esteemed chess only as an amateur activity, considering the game unworthy of pursuit as a serious occupation. Chess professionals were viewed in the same light as professional gamblers) (1837). Pretty cool never heard of him before.

As t the above Prayer Request. Footprints on the Fridge has more at Baby Cate and Her Family Need Us She references "Bay Cate's blog that is here at Baby Cate . So when you say your Hours, Your Rosary or regular prayers please keep this child and her family in your prayers tonight and in the next few days.
