Hillary Clinton Must like the British Comedy 'Yes Minister"

Every year during the pledge drive for Louisiana Public Broadcasting, I ask them to put on their schedule again the BBC comedy called Yes Minister that later became Yes Prime Minister.

The whole show revolves around a elected British politician named Jim Hacker that is a Cabinet Minister. However what makes the show funny is he is always at war with Sir Humphrey who represents the British Civil Service. What is hilarious about the show and yet so true is the aims of the politicans and the the aims of the civil service are always at odds. We find the Civil Service is often making policy and not the politicans, By the way this dynamic is also why I am fearful of term limits.

Anyway in this vein Hillary Clinton, who is likely to be the Democratic nominee for President, in her latest pronouncement, has stated she would like to create a National Service Academy to train public servants!!! Like our Military Academies it will be all free. ". AJ over at the Statra Sphere Blog has the article and offers some thoughts on this "exciting" news.

There is nothing wrong with these programs. In my state of Louisiana LSU, Nicholls St, and Loyola have public adminstration programs. They do serve a purpose. But a National Academy? Waste of money and very bad idea. Also a very Democrat like idea. Also they do something like this in France which again shows that this is a disaster waiting to happen.
