This Republican Thanks Obama For Not Vetoing the Border Enforcement Bill

I mean that. See Vox Nova's post Will Anyone Thank Obama For This?.

However I respectfully disagree with the rest of the post and left this comment.

I especially don't think this will hurt Obama among his supporters. Are there really legions of liberals and certain factions of the Social Justice movement that do not want to secure the border? I think on the whole they number in similar fashion to Libertarians that truly believe in open borders.

We see from the article that is linked:
Among other things, the bill provides for roughly 1,500 new law enforcement agents, new unmanned aerial vehicles, new forwarding operating bases and $14 million in new communications equipment.

I can't imagine a lot of people will be against that. However as I said in my comment this is the perfect time to up enforcement in border enforcement. Once the economy gets going and people might look at Comp Immigration reform again we can show that true efforts have been made as to this problem. Therefore they might bite on the rest.

In the end I have to thing the vast middle, the center left, and the center right all share similar concerns here and also agree on similar solutions.
