Most Funny Comment I Have Heard In Gay Marriage Controversy

That is "How would you feel if the 1st Amendment was voted on" Hmm I think it was actually "voted" on.

How so? Again it is a example when people say something but don't think it though

I agree with your first amendment analogy. There are a number of people who declare the bill of rights protects the minority from the majority. Not exactly true. First off, the bill of rights was only intended to apply to the federal government, not the states, so until the 20th century states had no restrictions in limiting freedom of speech, establishing religion, et al. Second, it only protects the minority from a majority, not a super majority, who can legally change the constitution as they see fit. I think the big problem is when people substitute the constitution for the Bible. Saying "because it is my constitutional right" is now the trump card. Most who say this do not realize the constitution is hardly set in stone and why it is considered the ultimate arbiter of morality is beyond me. Once you add in the "living document" theory, there is no telling what the constitution even means.

Thanks Andy for the comment

Now I realize throught the 14th the Bill of Rights "largely" applies ot the States

I also realize that the Bill of rights does not contain all our rights. I understand there are Natural Law rights. Yet advcates of gay marriage do not want to go there because what are those based on
