Mormons Test Market New Ad Campaign In Baton Rouge Louisiana

This is pretty interesting. See New Mormon campaign only the beginning

......The campaign is being tested in nine cities, including Baton Rouge, Tucson, Colorado Springs, Jacksonville, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Rochester, Oklahoma City and Pittsburgh.
"Baton Rouge fit the footprint very nicely for us," said Wilson.....

We also see this!!
There are nearly 28,000 Mormons in Louisiana and 50 congregations. Wilson says the church wanted to plant their positive message here because the number of members is showing a growing trend. It is a way, he says, for the community to get to know their neighbors......

28,000 in Louisiana !! Who knew!! That is far more than I dreamed.

I would love to know the demographics of the congregations. For instance on race and how many were ex (fill in the blank) and were unchurched. Maybe Louisiana non Mormons need to be paying attention.

Read it all.

Note to Mormons outside Louisiana. Lets make one thing clear. BYU gets None I repeat NO Mormon Louisiana High School Football studs. They stay in state!! Geaux Tigers. Go Tech.

Tip of the hat to the Dead Pelican.

There's a temple right here in Baton Rouge. You may already know that. Drive by it every day. Went up about 8-9(?) years ago.

Yeah there are quite a few Mormons in Baton Rouge. Heck two of my Law Profs were Mormon. I just did not realize there were 28,000.
