Another Damn Yankee Catholic Convert

:)

The always interesting McNamara's Blog which main focus is on American Catholic hisotry has had several entries on Southern Catholics of the Civil War era. He returnes back to the Union with a very interesting entry on Union Genral and Catholic Convert at General William S. Rosecrans (1819-1898)

What is interesting is that his conversion so interested his brother he converted too and later became the first Bishop of Columbus Ohio. The General's own son became a a Paulist priest

He actuayll had a good career as a general until the disaster of the Battle of Chickamauga in which he was defeated by CSA General Bragg.
