Former Louisiana Episcopal Priest and Florida Bishop Ordained a Catholic Priest

The article he links is good. What I like about this was this the way this was done. Very quietly and in a respectful manner. There is no need to have a IN YOUR FACE moment for our Anglican friends that are in middle of their own troubles. Gosh knows we have our own troubles ourselves.

I think this is a very Christian way of doing this. This needs to be very much the rule in the years ahead in dealing with former Anglicans under the new structure.

The Louisiana angle of this interested me more.

I did not realize he was in a Episcopal priest in Louisiana. I did some research and found that he also served as a chaplain to the Louisiana National Guard and served on active duty during Operation Desert Shield.

It appears from this he served as a Priest in both of the two Louisiana Episcopal Diocese in Louisiana. to Episcopal Bishop he was the rector of The Church of the Good Shepherd, Lake Charles, Louisiana (Diocese of Western Louisiana) , and Dean of the Lake Charles Convocation .

In the Dioceses of Louisiana and Western Louisiana he served at various times as dean of several convocations and as an ex-officio member of the Executive Council.During his tenure in Western Louisiana, Bishop Lipscomb was a teaching fellow in New Testament for the Bishop's School for Ministry and a member of the Commission on Ministry.

I am not sure outside Baton Rouge and Lake Charles what other Churches he served but I suspect there were a few.

During his time in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, (Diocese of Louisiana) he was instrumental in the establishment of the Baton Rouge Area Food Bank, Urban Ministry Coalition, and Greater Baton Rouge Federation of Churches and Synagogues.
