Urgent Help Needed From Catholic Social Justice Folks To Save New Orleans From Itself

In a sane world Congressman Cao would have no problem with someone like Richmond. See this New Orleans Picayune article from today This time, state Rep. Cedric Richmond can be honest.

A critical part of Catholic Social Justice is that politicos be honest. I think I read that somewhere. Oh Yes I did read it somewhere:

Among the deformities of the democratic system, political corruption is one of the most serious [843] because it betrays at one and the same time both moral principles and the norms of social justice. It compromises the correct functioning of the State, having a negative influence on the relationship between those who govern and the governed. It causes a growing distrust with respect to public institutions, bringing about a progressive disaffection in the citizens with regard to politics and its representatives, with a resulting weakening of institutions. Corruption radically distorts the role of representative institutions, because they become an arena for political bartering between clients' requests and governmental services. In this way political choices favour the narrow objectives of those who possess the means to influence these choices and are an obstacle to bringing about the common good of all citizens.

Congresman Cao is Republican and I know that might give some Catholic Social Justice types a severe headache. However he is not overly partisan. He is basically a Lindy Boggs with a (R) by his name which is a good fit for that district. He also thinks pro-life concerns are a integral part of Catholic Social Justice. His opponent besides having ethical problems and other emerging scandals is pro-choice by the way.

Cao also is very concerned about religious freedom abroad as shown in his work on keeping the heat on Vietnam not to persecute their Catholic population. He KNOWS ALL ABOUT that from personal experience.
This race is doable for Cao and I do hope concerned Catholics and others will donate to him.

Regardless the last thing we need for NOLA and it's recovery is a William Jefferson II.

I'm amazed at the outright racism I've heard from some Democrats who openly proclaim that this district should only be respresented by an African-American.
