Wow...Anchoress and I are on the same track (although her blog is far superior to mine), I wrote a post about it today. I did see the show and I was just thrilled with the performance of the Dominican nun community that was featured. They were just amazing! I was very leery of Oprah, because frankly, I don't care for her. But the nuns kept Oprah from making it all about sex and materialism, and they put it all in its proper perspective.
I was very impressed....with the nuns, not Oprah. I didn't get a chance to watch the part about the Geisha's because I have no interest in them. I would have preferred that Oprah do a complete shows just on the nuns and the Geisha's separately. But...well, we're talking about Oprah here.
I will link you rpost. I had no idea the show was on yesterday. I hated I missed it. I thought it was today :(
Why the negativity towards Oprah? We should love all, including the Geisha's. I think the Nun's looked great. It is wonderful that they got to be featured for all they do and the goodness they spread. I kind of feel many great girls/women, will think about being in service of the lord from watching this.
Excellent showcase on the wonderful nuns. They get so little press.
