Collateral Damage- Health Care Bill Killed Middle East Peace

There is I guess from a Catholic Social Justice viewpoint a lot of collateral damage from pressing the Health Care Bill at all cost which also means protecting President Obama at all cost from the mean Republicans and the rabble.

You know things like

immigration policy ,

vouchers for poor kids in D.C,

a President that seems not thrilled with the defense of Marriage Act,

and oh now having the Foreign Policy of the United States run by Planned Parenthood as Sec Clinton goes around the world declaring that abortion is a basic human right.

But Americans must get this Health care Bill for the good of the world so who cares about abortion in Costa Rica and other places where the brown folks live. The Common Good you know.

Now it is Middle East Peace

From Kaus

**--Luce's piece is eye-opening in its description of what was sacrificed in the push for health care reform:
Insiders attribute
Mr Obama’s waning enthusiasm for the Arab-Israeli peace initiative to a desire to avoid antagonising sceptical lawmakers whose support was needed on healthcare. The steam went out of his Arab-Israeli push in mid-summer, just when the healthcare bill was running into serious difficulties.

This partly explains why on CNN last Sunday the King of Jordan was flipping out because he was saying basically it appeared Obama lost interest in the whole thing.

Now let me say I have never had too many hopes in the Middle East Peace Process because

(1) It seems the only Country that is demanded to to concede anything is Israel

and
(2) As to the whole Palestine situation the Government is so powerless it could never enforce a treaty on it's on people.

That being said how far we have come from the Obama CAIRO speech. THE BEST PRESIDENTIAL SPEECH EVER SINCE THE GETTYSBURG ADDRESS or so everyone was telling us.

Still it is telling that the self appointed Catholic Social Justice Magisterium we have pontificating left and right seems to have failed to notice this. Perhaps they lost interest too.
