What Will Protestant Churches That Support Abortion Say About Gosnell Horrors

Finally after a year of pleading it appears the media can no longer ignore the murders that happened at the abortion clinic operated by Kermit Gosnell in  Pennsylvania .

The trial transcript is now just to horrific beyond words to ignore and the pro lifers as well as anyone just interested in humanity is pressing the media to finally cover this.  See 9 Things You Should Know About the Gosnell Infanticide and Murder Trial.

I intend to take on how the media has treated this case later. But in this post I am very interested in what the religious response will be among those Faith Communities that support abortion rights. That is for instance those that are members of  Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice.

Mark Tooney looks at this from the United Methodist Church viewpoint at Kermit Gosnell’s Abortion Trial and United Methodists .

As he correctly notes the United Methodist Church still has a viable pro life presence and in fact is trending there more and more in their official positions. So I expect many Methodist pro lifers will use this as an opportunity to examine some things and press for change.

However what about about other Protestant faith communities of the RCRC where the pro life  witness is not as viable and for all practical purpose shut out. That will be an interesting story to watch as this trial continues to unfold.

I don't know what any so-called "churches" will say about it, but what went on at Kermit Gosnell's filthy clinic of horror has nothing to do with safe legal medical care related to family planning or reproductive choice. What this monster was doing was illegal, and he is being prosecuted for doing it. If there is any censorship of this news story, then how do we all know about it? Maybe the people in the black helicopters are stealing information out of your mind, and that is why you think there is censorship of important news stories.

I'm not sure if this is an abortion story. I think it is about a very bad doctor, who should spend the rest of his life in prison. The reason I'm not sure about the abortion angle is because of the story of the dentist in Tulsa. Have you heard about that one the news? He allegedly exposed up to 7500 of his former patients to HIV and Hep B. His clinic was a nightmare of horrors. There was a little mention of it on CNN a couple weeks ago, and that's it. There is a physician (former) here in this part of NM who is dealing with something like 40 - 80 (depending on the gossip) individuals going after him for malpractice. Absolutely nothing, even local, has been covered on the issue.

I think a much bigger issue should be made that the media doesn't cover malpractice and bad doctors enough. If it weren't for the abortion side of things, no one, outside of PA would even be following the story. The coverage of anything malpractice is rarely there, except for something very local.

My whole complaint is that people have a right to know who the good and bad doctors are, and to know that doctors are not god. You want heart-breaking stories about incompetent cardiac care? I have friends who have died because of it. It isn't just about abortion. The cardiologists in question are still raking in the big bucks.

The Methodist Church has avoided this long enough. Get out of Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice murder is murder at any age. Life begins the first min. the egg is fertilized. Nothing grows until it is alive.

Junior Plunkett, I don't think the issue is whether life begins at conception or not. The issue is "who made you god over another human being to tell her what to do with her own body?" You do what you please about your own reproduction, and let other folks do what they please about their reproduction. You just need to stick your nose into your own personal business, and keep it out of mine.
